British rapper Stormzy has announced the launch of a new production company, Merky Films, and is set to star in a short film about the experiences of an ex-rapper.

The BACKBONE hitmaker confirmed the company is also developing projects with Netflix, and commented 'It’s a natural next step for everything we do at #Merky. Sharing our stories, spotlighting important voices and making room for those who deserve to be seen and heard. I’m bursting at the seams to talk about them… It’s fair to say it’s Black stories, Black experiences depicted through the screen. … We want to give that feeling of a narrative that you’ve experienced but never seen on screen'.
